What do you picture when you think about college? How much would you bet that the first memory that comes to mind isn’t about your classes, the lectures you attended, or the hours you spent studying? Even though learning is the heart of the college experience, we are not talking about the kind of experience you find in a classroom. Alpha Epsilon Pi can be considered the place that teaches you everything you’d want to know about college that they don’t teach in the classroom while pursuing academic excellence.
Alpha Epsilon Pi was founded to provide opportunities for the Jewish college man seeking the best possible college and fraternity experience. A large part of AEPi’s role is to encourage the Jewish student to remain dedicated to Jewish ideas, values and ethics, and to prepare the student to be one of tomorrow’s leaders so that he may help himself, his family, his community and his people.
The brothers of Alpha Epsilon Pi share more than just a set of letters; we share a set of ideals. While AEPi is neither discriminatory nor overtly religious, it is the ONLY international fraternity with a commitment to develop the Jewish leaders of tomorrow.
Some of AEPi’s leaders have gone on to do incredible things. Here are some of our fraternity’s most notable alumni:
Gary Bettman, Cornell 1972 – Commissioner, National Hockey League
Wolf Blitzer, SUNY Buffalo 1970 – Journalist, Author, CNN Correspondent
James Brooks, NYU 1958 – Academy Award and Emmy Award winning Producer/Director
Art Garfunkel, Columbia 1964 – Singer/Composer
Jerry Reinsdorf, George Washington 1957 – Owner of Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox
Paul Simon, Queens 1963 – Singer/Composer
Steve Stone, Kent State 1969 – Cy Young Winner 1980 Orioles
Mark Zuckerberg, Harvard 2006 – Creator of Facebook
